EDUCATION
Dr.Rajani Rokade obtained her graduate medical degree (MBBS) in 1995 and her post-graduate medical degree (MD Pharmacology) in 1999, both from Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital (Mumbai University).

CAREER
She began her career as a “Lecturer” at Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai and thereafter worked as “Assistant Professor” at Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore.

Her industry stint began with Abbott India Limited in 2005 as “Manager-Medical Affairs”, where she took on the responsibility of medico-marketing for several key products.

She then joined Janssen-Cilag division of Johnson and Johnson India Limited, where she worked as Medical Advisor for several products, especially the CNS, Oncology and Pain segment.

In 2008 she joined Sanofi as a Medical Advisor, and gradually took over the responsibility of setting up a new department - 'Medical Information'. After successfully establishing this new department and handling various projects, she further took over increasing responsibility as “Head of Pharmacovigilance” in 2010.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Apart from ensuring compliance for safety reporting for drugs, she worked towards spreading awareness on Pharmacovigilance amongst Healthcare providers. She conducted Pharmacovigilance workshops for many renowned hospitals in India including Apollo, Fortis, Manipal, GKNM, Medica etc.

Dr. Rajani has also been invited as a guest speaker on Pharmacovigilance at several medical colleges in India such as KEM, LTMMC, DY Patil, MGM etc.

She was instrumental in starting a Pharmacovigilance forum consisting of many Pharmacovigilance professionals for multinational pharmaceutical industries in India, and worked actively in providing inputs on the safety reporting guidelines to the Expert committee, through OPPI.

She was invited as panelist at the Annual Pharmacovigilance Conference in 2011 and 2012 organized by Virtue Insight.

PHARMASOULZ
In October 2013, Dr. Rajani moved on from Sanofi to become a freelance consultant for pharmacovigilance and medico-marketing.
In April 2014, she started her own consultancy “Pharmasoulz”, to provide pharmacovigilance, medico marketing, medical writing and medical training services to the pharmaceutical companies.
Through this new role, she plans to provide good quality medical and pharmacovigilance content and services to the pharmaceutical industry.
